1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Politifyr (“the Service”), operated by Politifyr LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Politifyr is a civic transparency platform that aggregates publicly available government data including congressional voting records, campaign finance disclosures, federal spending records, and lobbying disclosures. The Service presents this data alongside AI-generated analysis. We do not represent government entities and are not affiliated with any political party or candidate.

3. Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Subscription and Billing

Politifyr offers a free tier and a paid Premium subscription. Premium subscriptions are billed monthly ($9.99/month) or annually ($99.99/year) and renew automatically until cancelled. All payments are processed by Stripe. Prices are in USD.

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not provide refunds for partial periods.

We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Scrape, crawl, or programmatically access the Service without written permission
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or circumvent any security measures
• Use the Service to harass, defame, or harm any individual
• Misrepresent data from the Service as your own original research
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose

6. Data Accuracy and Limitations

The Service aggregates data from third-party government sources (Congress.gov, FEC, GovTrack, USASpending.gov, Senate LDA, and others). While we strive for accuracy, we make no warranties regarding the completeness, timeliness, or fitness for any particular purpose of this data.

AI-generated summaries and “contradiction” analyses are generated automatically and have not been individually verified. These summaries are informational only and should not be relied upon as legal, financial, or journalistic fact without independent verification.

7. Intellectual Property

The Politifyr name, logo, and original interface design are our property. Underlying government data is in the public domain. AI-generated summaries produced by the Service are owned by Politifyr LLC. You may share individual data points and summaries for non-commercial purposes with attribution to Politifyr.

8. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, POLITIFYR LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Virginia.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice in the Service. Continued use after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance.
